Enoch Evans LLP have many years of experience in acting in a wide range of prosecutions brought by the regulatory authorities specifically in Sutton Coldfield and Walsall. We have dealt with a whole range of Health & Safety matters including fatal accidents and successfully defended a Director prosecuted personally following a fatal accident. We have also acted for companies and advised both at the investigation stage and in defending prosecutions. The team have been involved in defending matters brought by the Environment Agency in relation to waste disposal, fly tipping and the escape of noxious substances.
We have a track record of dealing with Trading Standards Prosecutions including trade marking and counterfeiting offences. This includes defending an individual charged with their involvement in large scale trading in counterfeit products. We have been involved in matters involving the Inland Revenue and Department of Trade and Industry as well as the customs authorities and the evasion of duty including a successful appeal to the Court of Appeal relating to large scale importation of counterfeit cigarettes.
We have acted in matters brought by VOSA in relation to Operators’ Licences, tachograph and drivers hours offences and we have substantial experience in dealing with Taxi Licensing matters in particular successfully opposing the revocation of a Taxi Operators’ licence, dealing with hearings and appeals before the Licensing Sub Committee in respect of drivers licences following convictions for motoring or other matters including plying for hire offences.
