James studied Law and Sociology at University College Cardiff and gained a BSc Econ. degree, qualifying as a solicitor in 1984. After completing his training contract James started as an assistant solicitor in the same year, dealing with a varied caseload including; Conveyancing, Property, Matrimonial and Civil Litigation as well as Wills and Probate. James therefore has over 34 years’ experience in administering Estates and obtaining Grants of Probate for his clients. Having been a Partner at the firm between 1986 in 2000 James then moved on to another firm to specialise in Wills, Probate and Trusts.
Over the years James has built up a wide experience in Private Client work. He has dealt with matters involving; Wills, Estates Administration, Trusts, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Asset Protection care home fees advice and has recently started to do more in Trusts and Inheritance Tax planning.
James enjoys meeting the clients, talking to them, getting to know them and building up a trusting relationship with them. He places high importance on the fact that clients rely on him and his advice.

Hobbies & interests: James has many interests, but gardening has become more of an interest as time has gone on. He also loves walking with friends and family, particularly hill walking with in the Lake District or Scotland. When not outdoors, James loves playing the piano and spending time with his children.
