Ian Little

Solicitor

Ian graduated from Loughborough University before then spending a decade working across several sectors before commencing his legal career - providing him with a useful insight into various working environments and workplace issues which in time has proved to be an extremely valuable experience for Ian subsequently becoming a specialist Employment Law Solicitor.

After a change in career direction and with a keen desire to make a difference, Ian subsequently graduated from the University of Law in Birmingham before then commencing his legal career as a Trainee Solicitor in 2008, qualifying as a Solicitor in 2010 in Employment Law whilst working for a large corporate law firm in Birmingham.  He has well over a decade of experience specialising in Employment Law matters, advising both employees and employers on day-to-day and complex HR issues at all stages in the employee lifecycle.  Ian has worked with a wide range of clients including charities, universities, schools, local authorities, police forces, financial institutions, retail brands, manufacturers and businesses.

Ian took the opportunity to join Enoch Evans in January 2025 advising clients on a wide range of Employment Law and HR related issues, including multi-faceted Employment Tribunal claims (often with a significant reputational element), negotiated settlements, complex investigations, restructures and redundancies, trade union relations, equal pay, discrimination, whistleblowing, and TUPE.   Ian also assists organisations in preparing and updating staff contracts and policies, in order to ensure ongoing compliance and protection.  He has significant experience in advising on various grievance and disciplinary issues, bringing / defending Employment Tribunal proceedings, TUPE, exiting senior executives, reorganisations and redundancy (including collective consultation), discrimination and trade union disputes.

Having worked in both law firms and in-house legal departments, Ian fully appreciates what it is like to be on both sides of the client relationship and is committed to working with his clients to provide tailored advice in a practical, cost-effective, and pragmatic manner.

Personal interests

Outside of work Ian enjoys travelling and exploring different cultures.  He has a passion for sport (hence his attendance at Loughborough University) having played for various teams - somewhat unusually having played both rugby union for Handsworth RUFC and also football for Walsall Phoenix AFC.  He has completed various marathons (26.2 mile run) and an Ironman Triathlon (2.4 mile swim / 112 miles bike / 26.2 mile run), and has also previously qualified / worked as both a swimming and gym instructor / manager.  Unsurprisingly, his hobbies currently include keeping fit, swimming, playing tennis, going to the gym, skiing, and when Ian is not watching sport he enjoys walking the family dog and spending time with his family.  Ian has also found satisfaction from participating in various voluntary work and attending charity events to raise money for good causes in the process.
