Employee gets promoted to Paralegal after 16 years of service

Lydia Evans who started with us back in the year 2007 as an Office Assistant, has now successfully been promoted to the role of Paralegal.

When Lydia first joined the firm, she aspired to make a bold move into the Accounts department - this goal was coupled with her studying a Business and Administration course. After endless hours of studying, she successfully gained an NVQ level 3 in AAT and was on track to place her foot in the world of accounting.

However, the direction of her career took a turn as she took a genuine interest in Law and went on to achieve a Level 2 Diploma for legal secretaries. The goal of working in Accounts changed and in 2013 Lydia started the opportunity to fill the position of Legal Secretary within the Wills, Tax, and Probate department. When asked why she chose that department, Lydia says “This was the area of Law that intrigues me the most and I could not wait to learn everything I could”

Lydias’ change of direction from accounts to Law was just as much of a surprise to her as anyone, “Little did I know that 10 years later I would be accepting a position as Paralegal in the same department. This was a huge step for me to take but I want to continue doing something I love and take on more responsibility.’’

Lydia welcomes the new role along with any challenges she may face in ultimately achieving her goal of becoming a qualified advisor.  “I will have the support to accomplish my goals and become qualified.”

In her commitment to the role and studying, Lydia has also started and raised her own family. The support from Enoch Evans for its employees has been integral to the longevity and development of staff – “with the amazing staff at Enoch Evans, I have the support to accomplish my goals.”
